- As someone who only has a little knowledge of Dump & the Crush Gals, I thought it was very good. Now, they do seem to go back and forth on whether they treat wrestling like it’s real or fake, which made for a confusing watch at times. But beyond that, it’s just a very good story. Even with the parts that I’m sure were changed for dramatic effect, it does what any good story should do and get you invested in the characters. The story of the 5 girls training together, including Dump & Chigusa, was very endearing, and made you feel bad when they started to fall out, and made you feel really good by the final episode. Not only that, but I thought the series did a great job of capturing the spectacle of pro wrestling in the ring, making it feel like something you could watch on TV but while also feeling like a TV drama.
- ダンプ＆ザ・クラッシュ・ギャルズのことを少ししか知らない私としては、とても良い作品だと思った。プロレスを本物のように扱うか、偽物のように扱うかで、二転三転しているようで、見ていて混乱することもあった。しかし、それ以上に、とてもいい話だ。ドラマチックな演出のために変更されたと思われる部分があったとしても、優れた物語がすべきことをやってのけ、登場人物に感情移入させてくれる。ダンプ＆千種を含む5人の少女が一緒に練習するストーリーはとても愛らしく、彼女たちが仲違いし始めた時には嫌な気持ちにさせられ、最終回にはとても良い気分にさせられた。それだけでなく、リング上のプロレスのスペクタクルを見事に表現し、テレビで見るような雰囲気を出しつつ、テレビドラマのような感覚も味わえるシリーズだと思った。

- On the second episode now and I’m entertained. But I don’t really get the way they are portraying Wrestling here, it feels like a really strange mix of Reality and Kayfabe. They talk about the match endings and the show, but at the same time every time they step in the ring it is portrayed as almost a total shoot.

- Just finished it. It was good. Only problem is, it’s only 5 episodes. Everything is wrapped up. It leaves a feeling like there was so much story left to be told. Pacing although each episode is 60 plus minutes is a bit quick. Other than that it was good.

- Well I decided to stick with it and I’m currently on episode 4. As a “sports drama” it’s fairly entertaining but as a drama about pro wrestling is a mess. It’s basically almost entirely carried by the cast who do a great job with the dumb shit they are given.

- I think that it’s a show where you have to leave your wrestling brain at the door because the logic of it simply doesn’t work otherwise. Take it as a drama based loosely on real events and it’s a solid, quite melodramatic story about a woman carving her dream out of unyielding material, and I liked how they covered other wrestlers as well. The meat of some episodes didn’t work for me, they overexaggerated some stuff and underplayed some others (I wish we’d seen Dump learn about subekan culture before her transformation), but the ending got me emotionally so ultimately it came good. Really well acted too, and very well done recreations of key matches

- Only seen the first episode and I like it so far. Obviously it’s a fictionalised version of her life so the facts are played with a bit, though I’m surprised they didn’t include her mother walking out on the family when she was young and that she failed her audition twice before making it.

- I thought it was very good, one of the better wrestling shows to date. Of course with any Japanese drama, one has to remember that the melodramatic style is par for the course, it’s what Japan enjoys and at the end of the day, it was by them, for them. My take on the “going off script” wasn’t so much making a match into a shoot fight, but rather doing “anything else” beyond what was agreed, IE unplanned blood, stiff shots, brawling, changed finishes etc.
